Summary:

There are six main functions to the VDB Extrapolate node:  Expand SDF Narrowband, Expand SDF Into Mask SDF, Convert Fog VDB to SDF, Renormalize SDF, Extend Fields off Fog VDB, and Extend Fields off SDF.  In general, when you want to modify the results of an SDF/Distance volume in any way, then you will probably find something on this node which will achieve that modification for you.

General Parameters:

Source Group:

--  This allows you to specify which vdb volume you would like to modify.

Extension Group:

--  This only applies to the "Extend Fields off Fog VDB" and "Extend Fields off SDF" modes.  It is expecting either a fog or SDF volume and is used along with these two modes to modify the source group volume.

Mask VDB:

--  Only applies to "Expand SDF Into Mask SDF" mode.  The volume that you load here will be used to define the region which is used to determine how far away from the isosurface to measure.
