Today, I'm very excited to announce that CG Forge is live!
Over the past few months, I've been building CG Forge as a place that values the quality of your online learning above all else. It's more important than ever to discover online tutorials that you can trust, and that's exactly what you'll find here. The little details matter - everything from the content, presentation, and website are designed to help you learn at your best.
Right now you'll find tutorials that are solely focused in Houdini - which has been rapidly becoming the production standard across professional VFX, animation, video games, advertisement, and motion graphics. It's one of the best 3D software packages to learn right now, and it has a lot to offer every 3D artist.
Below you'll find a FAQ which talks about some of the website features in more detail, and if you need anything, feel free to get in contact at any time. Thank you for your support! Forge your world
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I have a question about a course, how can I get help?
If you get stuck or confused with a particular section of a course, you can send a message through the comment section of the video player, by clicking "contact" towards the end of the page, or by sending directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. Part of what you pay for includes help if you end up getting stuck, so feel free to ask!
2. How does "Early Access" work?
As a course is being created, chapters will be published as they are being finished. The great thing about this is that you don't have to wait for a course to be finished if you'd like to follow along! Once you've enrolled in a class that's under construction, you'll receive an e-mail notification letting you know once the next chapter is ready. This also gives you a great opportunity to message the instructor as the course is being made.
3. How do certifications work?
At the end of each course, you'll find a short answer section. If you've watched all the videos in their entirety and score at least an 80% in the short-answer section, then you'll be able to download a pdf certification along with the option to add it to your Linkedin profile.
4. What is the certification ID?
If you successfully achieve the certification, you'll get a digital ID which is unique to your account. This can be used to validate your accomplishments. Studios, schools, and anyone else can validate this by e-mailing your certificate ID to email@example.com for confirmation.
5. Do you offer bulk discounts?
If you buy at least 10 seats of any course or bundle, you can get 30% off the purchase. This does not stack with any current discount coupons. To do this, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with a list of e-mail addresses. From there, you'll get a payment link, and people can then log in with their e-mails to gain access.
6. I'd like to teach on CG Forge! How can I apply?
If you'd like to apply for teaching a course on CG Forge, send out an e-mail to email@example.com with your resume, examples of tutorials that you've already published, and a brief description of what you'd like to teach.
7. Do you offer subscription plans?
This has been a carefully considered topic, and the short answer is no. Flat pricing allows students to own their courses. You'll never feel "trapped" in a monthly commitment, and this also helps in preventing piracy.
8. Do you offer individual training in addition to the lessons?
Yes! The plan is to eventually have this integrated directly with the CG Forge website, and for time being, you can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
9. Do you offer refunds?
10. Do courses expire?
11. Can I download a video and watch it offline?
Nope - this helps prevent piracy
12. I've already purchased one of your courses on CG Circuit, can I get access on CG Forge?
Yes, absolutely! Just send me an e-mail and I'll add you in.
